Group Testing dates have been arranged in the Boone, Chapel Hill, Durham,
Edenton, Garner, Kannapolis, North
Raleigh/New Life Camp, Selma, Spring
Lake/Fayetteville, and Thomasville areas. Please
call the main office for more information. Basic WJIII: $90 This combination tests comprehension, fluency, and skills in Reading, Math, and Language. Beginning readers may also be tested in Story Recall, Understanding Directions, Picture Vocabulary, and Oral Comprehension. Basic Plus: $135 We recommend this combination of tests for students during their middle and early high school career. The additional knowledge that you gain from this combination of tests and scores will help you determine your child's readiness for high school and college level work. In addition, your child will be tested in Academic Knowledge (Science, Social Studies, Humanities), Quantitative Concepts, Reading Vocabulary, and Editing. You can arrange for additional consultation time in which we can help you plan for these important years. Woodcock-Johnson III Tests of Cognitive Abilities: $70 The student is involved in tests that measure the different aspects of the underlying skills they use while learning. These skills are also known as their cognitive abilities. The information that you will receive from these tests will help you better underestand how to help your child learn. These scores can also be used when applying for gifted programs. The broad areas tested include Verbal and Thinking Ability, cognitive Efficiency, Comprehension-Knowledge (crystallized intelligence), Long-Term Retrieval, Visual-Spatial Thinking, Auditory Processing, Fluid Reasoning, Processing Speed, and Short-Term Memory. Additional tests are available for Phonemic Awareness, Working Memory, Broad Attention, Cognitive Fluency, and Esxecutive Processes. Learning Difference: $175 We recommend this combination of tests for students who are struggling with learning to read. Your child will take all the tests listed above and Oral Comprehension, Word Attack, Sound Awareness, Spelling of Sounds, and Picture Vocabulary.
